The audience has chosen the best films of the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival!

We know the winners of the Warsaw Documentary Award and the VRsawa Award for  Best VR (Virtual Reality) Film – this evolving section has been developed by the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival and Bank Millennium. Both awards are funded by the City of Warsaw.

Bing Liu’s “Minding the Gap” has won over the Warsaw audience during the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, which took place 11-20 May in Warsaw. The audience has also decided the winner of the VR (Virtual Reality) film competition – it’s a first for a Polish film festival!

The audience has decided to reward Bing Liu’s “Minding the Gap” with the Warsaw Documentary Award, funded by the City of Warsaw, of 2 000 EUR.

The film was initially being shot spontaneously, just to register the everyday lives of three young skateboarders, eventually it has become a moving record of them growing up and having to make difficult life choices. Freedom opens up the way to responsibility and maturity.

It is the third award of the 15. Film Festival for this film. “Minding the Gap” has also won the Grand Prix – the Bank Millennium Award in the Main Competition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival. The film has also received the Lower Silesia Grand Prix. The award is funded by the Marshall of the Lower Silesia Voivodeship.
