In the Masters section, presentation of film trilogy on evil by Barbet Schroeder


In the Masters section we will present the Oscar® nominated Barbet Schroeder. His newest work “The Venerable W.” depicts a monk from Burma who is known as the Venerable Wirathu, who prophesizes an anti-muslim rhetoric of hate. “Venerable W.” is the final part to a trilogy of evil – which will be presented in its’ entirety at the festival. It consists of “Terror’s Advocate” from 2007 which was honored by the Cesar Award for Best Documentary Film and “General Idi Amin Dada: A Self-Portrait” from 1974 which brought the director international fame.
