In many European countries populist far right political movements are gaining power. This nationalistic turn in Europe is becoming every day reality, and conservative values, an attitude of opposition to the European Union, disrespect towards immigrants and nationalist ideology are showing up in many political campaigns. Patriotic nationalist marches are also becoming a new and constant element of life in the city and this includes Poland. Radical right wing populism is becoming part of the social and political mainstream. How should we, as a society and as individuals react to this nationalist change?
The debate will include:
Justyna Kajta – sociologist, researcher specializing in the subject of contemporary Polish nationalism
Michał Syska – publicist, lawyer, director of the Ferdinand Lassalle Centre for Social Thought
Przemysław Wojcieszek – film and theatre director
