Bjarke Ingels, the golden child of contemporary Danish architecture. At the age of 40 a documentary film has been made about him and his projects, with which his Bjarke Ingels Group is revolutionizing city space. Ingels’ workshop connects innovative solutions and modern technology with respect for the natural environment. Does Bjarke Ingels design balanced architecture? How does he build a relationship with the surroundings? Does he represent a new generation of “starchitects”? To what extend propositions from BIG respond to challenges standing before architecture in the 21st century? To what extent challenges in a global context respond to the situation in architecture in Poland? We will search for answers along with guests after the film.
The debate will include:
Małgorzata Bartyna – urban designer, lead city gardener for the City Hall of Wrocław
Roman Rutkowski – architect, lecturer for the Architecture Department at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology
Kuba Snopek – urbanist and architect, worked for the Bjarke Ingels Group
