Kuba Mikurda is a film lecturer and filmmaker based in Warsaw, Poland. He started as a film critic, journalist and publisher, then worked as TV director and film news presenter for Canal+ Poland. He also co-edited books on Terry Gilliam, Brothers Quay, Guy Maddin, Tsai Ming-liang and, last but not least, Walerian Borowczyk.
Mikurda has studied psychology and philosophy under philosopher & psychoanalyst Slavoj Žižek. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at Film School in Łódz.
Mikurda is fascinated by the idea of mixing film practice & research – he has explored various forms of visual film analysis, including graphic novel, found footage film, installation and performance (creative duo with visual artist Jakub Woynarowski).
