Born in 1966 in Bucharest (Romania). In 1991, Alexandru Solomon graduated from the Camera Department of the Film and Theatre Academy Bucharest and started making documentaries aside from filming feature films.
After various residencies (1996: University of California in San Diego, USA; 2000: Nipkow Programme Berlin, Germany) he took part in the Discovery Campus Masterschool in Germany in 2001 and finally received his PhD in Visual Artsfrom the National University of Arts in Bucharest in 2016 where he’s still teaching today. He is also the director of One World Romania Festival in Bucharest.
